Our Internal See-Saw!

Image
Sometimes in life we attempt to accomplish more than what is actually needed. We attempt to carry more than our two little hands can safely handle. We want to save the world, when in fact all that is necessary is that we save ourselves. Saving ourselves simply means becoming present inside of ourselves and allowing the universe to move us into our proverbial lane. Allowing our lives to ecologically evolve into the form that is~ our truth. I have come to know that we must not attempt to take on more than what is necessary. We must allow ourselves to be not only good; but great at at least one thing on this journey. Being great at one thing simply requires that we put down all of the things that do not bring our life joy~and then focus our energy on that one thing that we truly desire to do. The more that I seek knowledge, the more I realize that it is the knowledge of who we are: that allows us to gain more knowledge, it opens us up to accept the present m...

Stumbling To Clarity!

Image
Everyday is a cumulation of experiencing the act of stumbling and  then on to clarity. We walk into situation with some clarity but realize halfway in that we begin stumbling. Stumbling is a natural part of humanness, because without stumbling we cannot find our way to clarity. Without making mistakes we can not find out the right way to do things. Sometimes doing the right thing is the wrong thing for some, it is not something that is accepted. In some cultures the act of tricking the mind that the wrong thing is the right thing is more accepted than actually doing the right thing from the beginning. I have come to know that when we stand on right and refuse to allow others to entice us into wrong, then the universe will open up a way for you. As we stumble when begin to learn how to go through the right window or door, at first it is uncomfortable because we are human-- but just know that uncomfortability --is a part of the human experience. But the key is to con...

Moving Forward!

Image
I have learned on this journey that until we allow ourselves to move forward, we simply stay in the same place. We are in most cases the only person that stands in our own way. When we can allow in courage and a strong belief in God, then and only then can we begin to move. We begin to feel ourselves moving and at times are not even sure who or what is moving us. Our dreams are just ahead of us and all that stands in the way of achieving them-- is us. When we can step out of our own way and allow the universe to carry us, then we can begin to move forward. Then we are able to accomplish baby steps that lead us to more of who we are destined to be. Moving towards our destiny at times is a little tricky, sometimes what we have envisioned for our lives is not what God has envisioned; and we must allow ourselves to be open enough to receive his plan for our lives. The more I live; the more I learn, that where we are, this very moment; is where God wants us to be. Sometimes he hides our...

Your Next Steps Are Ordered!

Image
I am learning on this journey that no one is truly sure of what the next step will bring. The next steps that we take are new to us and new to the people around us. They are encamped by God's blue print for our lives and that blue print has only been seen by God. However our goal is to walk with HIM and trust that he will carry us to where we are suppose to be. I recently ran into a car accident that happened in our community, where a young man was knocked off of his bike and lay in the middle of the street covered in blood, and the lady that hit him kneeling where he was knocked off the bike, rocking and praying and screaming out to GOD to help the young man. I ran to her assistance and held her and rocked with her and then suddenly a GOD centered woman came out of the crowd and stood with me to assure the young lady that she was encamped by strong believers.  I am convinced that GOD led me there, to assist in offering the young lady assurance that everything...

Words Need Action to Flourish!

Image
Pauline Respress, BAS, M.Ed., As I walk closer to my destiny, I realize that in this life we must align our words with action. If we can speak it-- we must be able to see it and do it. When our words don't align with our action, then they are like beautiful blooms of a flower that blow gently in the wind--they have no direction, they roam aimlessly to a destination unknown.  And for those that hear your words that are not connected to action, they hear your words, but see someone that is just wasting beautiful words. Our words must match our actions to become fluid, to be realized...Even if we   don 't have the means to match our words, we must try our very best to move in the direction of our words. Our words will carry us-- if we can align them with action. Our tongue has power, it is the collection of all of our thoughts. It flows out of us like a river;  but even a river has boundaries and a direction that it will end up at, it's flow is intricatel...

Walking Fearlessly Into Experiences

Image
This journey has taught me many lessons, but the one that stands out the most to me. Is that in order to get to more of ourselves we must allow ourselves to be shaped by our experiences. We must understand that life is a series of occurences that poke and prod us into the fullness of ourselves. But we must allow ourselves to remain open to the experience, because being open is the only way we can get to growth. Once we close ourselves off to experiences then we stifle our ability to grow. Krishnamurti a philosopher, says it most eloquently, " that all things are in continual change, a constant becoming.." We are constantly becoming more of ourselves through our experiences. But the moment we attempt to thwart an inevitable experience we become closed and can potentially miss out on an opportunity to grow.  Sometimes out of fear of the unknown or simply unfounded fears. When we are able to feel the fear and the emotional or sometimes physical pain that a...

Paschal's Wager

Image
Paschal's Wager is a suggestion posed by French philosopher writer and mathematician, Blaise Paschal, that clearly rationalizes (for me) our belief in Christ.  Paschal believed that in deciding on accepting religion we must first view it as a wager, betting on the fact that God exist and if he doesn't we lose nothing. If he doesn't we have lived a life that is guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ and we have lived as though we have faith, we have also lived an enriched life that is based primarily on love. Some may argue that this rationalization is far-fetched and that they cannot place all of their belief in something or someone that they can not see and that the teachings are merely dogma that people use to hide behind. But for me --I'd rather hide behind love than not--I'd rather be guided by principles that enrich my life than not. What is the alternative? living a empty shell of a life that anything goes and that is guided by our own insatia...
