Releasing "The Butterfly" Within
Sometimes in life, after years of hurt, disappointment, failures and perceived rejections; we develop a guard around us for protection. This guard serves us like a shield to protect us from further hurt. This guard is like a safety net that propels hurtful people and circumstances away from us. This guard feels as though it is a part of your natural skin, but it is removable. We can take it off whenever we like ; and like a window, we can lower it, and bring it up when we choose. Sometimes we need the window lowered and other times we can open it wide as to allow people and circumstances in to interact with us. Our guard also serves as a filter; and like the screen in a window, people and circumstances get filtered through our sense of judgement. That sounds an alarm when the window needs to be lowered or sprung open.
Years ago someone told me that I appeared to be extremely guarded ; and I never fully understood what she meant. After years of getting in touch with myself, I realized that our guards, do serve us well at times; but we must know when and how to adjust them; as not to have them to interfere with our most significant relationships. As not to allow them to stop us from stepping into our destiny.
Hurt, disappointment and rejection, are all natural occurrences in life: and sometimes we have to allow them to happen to us, in order for us to grow. We cannot use our guards to stop us from getting the lessons and the correction that we need. Lessons and correction are GOD's way of placing us on the correct path; without them, we are not able to move forward in our lives. We simply stand still and the beautiful butterfly awaiting in all of us; becomes stuck behind the cocoon.
The cocoon is merely a holding place to support us as we grow, but eventually the cocoon must be broken so that we can experience real life. We must then rely on GOD, and his favor to protect us from all harm. Once we trust GOD, he will guard us when we need it.
So this week ladies remember that when we trust GOD, his remarkable grace will replace our guards when we release them to HIM.
Go Forth and Do Amazing Things!
Kind Regards,
Pauline
