Authenticity
Take off the shades is what a recent colleague spoke about, be your authentic self! Your authentic self is a cumulation of all of your experiences. We start off as little girls when the mind is just a little sponge that consumes everything around us. The wonder is in our eyes and everything has possibilities.
We begin to develop, and the mind continues to be a sponge, absorbing all of our experiences, and eventually we begin to build our own ideals and our own paradigms about who we are, and who we want the world to see. We never lose our wonder though because that is what keeps us in a state a learning and receptive to new experiences.
Some times we have mentors that help to shape our ideals and other times we form them independent of the people around us. Whether shaped by mentors or independently, we develop a sense of whom we are, and that sense of whom we are depicts what we travel with as we go into the world.
The shades are representative of hiding behind others words and not developing our own. Hiding behind the personality of others, so that we do not have to show our own, potentially out of fear of rejection..Our own words and personalities are typically a cumulation of others that have shaped us, but we are there neatly tucked away inside-- just waiting to be shared with the world.
Sometimes we can not find our own words and others inspire us to grab hold to ourselves. However, like training wheels on a bicycle, eventually the persona and words of others fall away, and we find ourselves left with our true selves.
Consequently, we know our true selves by merely that in which makes us feel valued, that in which feels right for us. It is almost like removing a mask and stepping into all that we have learned while styling that mask. Some things will fade away, while others will stay with us for a lifetime.
Nevertheless our true selves will stand out like a sore thumb it will show up for us daily, and all we must do is embrace ourselves, and embrace what we believe about us. We cannot worry on concentrate on what others might believe.
Define yourself daily if you must until your definition of "YOU" feels right to YOU. Defining YOURSELF authentically is all that truly matters, because when we show up, in the world, we must show up doing OURSELVES and nobody else.
God created us all as authentic human beings that bring to the world what others do not have, we all have gifts that we are responsible for locating and sharing with the world.
We must find those gifts, and sharpen them to the best of our ability, and then trust GOD to make them show up as we all gravitate towards our authentic selves.
So this week ladies as you move closer to your authentic self--slowly remove the mask and trust GOD to bring forth your amazing gifts.
Go Forth and DO Amazing Things!
Kind Regards,
Pauline
